My First Week at B2E
Having had very little experience in working from home from a professional aspect, I felt slightly weird when I was told that my course would be 100% remote and that I wouldn't need to go anywhere but also very excited and relieving as naturally I feel very comfortable at home, I promptly explained to my wife that I would require privacy when doing the course and she completely understood. Having that peace of mind had me feeling pretty good even though I acknowledged the strangeness of the situation, at least for me. Never having done something like before I didn't really know what to expect other than needing to be in a group meeting on Teams at 9:00 am to 5:00 pm from Monday to Friday and so I didn't really think about it, just living my life as usual which lasted until the night before when for some reason I began to grow nervous.
That's pretty much me before the first day of class.🤣
I guess it's always been a problem for me, growing apprehensive and nervous when meeting and interacting with new people even on a digital format which is quiet strange considering I don't have that problem when speaking to strangers on a regular phone call. Despite my nervousness however I was able to get some sleep, admittedly not as much as I'm used to, regardless I felt pretty fresh once I'd had a shower followed by a quick breakfast of cereal, not the most adult of choices I know.
My Cereal of choice.
Now properly ready for this new and exciting challenge I promptly jumped onto the course with both my desktop computer and Mobile phone since I needed both to get my tasks done. Neither my wife or me are morning people so I had to be quiet when setting up for the class. Despite having not known what to expect I was shocked with the size of the group and felt my apprehension and nervousness grow.
kidding Linda.
Fortunately that feeling didn't last long as the tutors, Linda and Tina made were kind enough to help me and I hope the others comfortable enough to the point where I no longer felt nervous and felt comfortable enough to share my thoughts when needed. It also helped that the first day was pretty light work with plenty of well timed breaks and we were able to get our tasks done with ease.
Now having gotten used to and comfortable enough in the groups meeting I could feel my apprehension leaving me almost completely though there was still some there due to my autism which I feel will always be there no matter how much I get used to interacting with complete strangers. The following days had different challenges which I was able to understand and resolve after doing a bit of research.
of getting your tasks done 😉
In addition to our core assignments we were also given additional tasks to do such as research and aptitude tests, in addition, those who hadn't completed their assignments were given the opportunity to complete them at the end of every class. My fellow students were also very friendly, kind and respectful as we teamed up and helped each other out when it came to our tasks.
tasks so effectively.
All in all I'd say my experience working with B2E has been very positive and has only increased my excitement and enthusiasm for working from home. I have also added to my knowledge when it comes to customer service as I learnt a great deal about Prevent, Consumer Rights Act 2015 and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) 2018.
